DO YOU NEED TO BE CATHOLIC TO ATTEND A CATHOLIC SCHOOL?
No, your child does not need to be Catholic to enrol at a Catholic school. While preference is given to students of the Catholic faith, particularly if you are active in your parish, our schools welcome families from all backgrounds or faith traditions who share in our mission and purpose.
Catholic Schools Broken Bay will offer K-12 enrolment during 2021. This will provide you with some surety around enrolment in our systemic secondary colleges for your child. As the option becomes available, you will only need to provide one enrolment form in primary school and complete a simple updated form to ensure your child’s continued enrolment in one of our systemic secondary colleges.
We welcome you to contact us with any enrolment queries for St Gerard’s Catholic Primary School Carlingford. The school is currently accepting enrolments. Enrolment applications are available throughout the school year from the school office. Please telephone the school office on (02) 9871 1633 to request an enrolment package.
Parents/caregivers who are willing to support the religious principles, faith and practice of the Catholic school are eligible to enrol their children in the systemic schools of the Diocese of Broken Bay.
There is one general admission of children to Kindergarten each year. Students may be enrolled for Kindergarten in a school year if they turn five no later than 31st July of that year. In the case of excessive applications, enrolment offers will be based on the Diocesan Enrolment Policy. The age of the child may also be taken into account. If you have concerns about your child’s age and starting school, we welcome you to contact us to discuss this.
Enrolment packages are available from the School Office all year. Kindergarten Enrolment packages are available from March each year by contacting us or alternatively the forms can be downloaded from this site, completed and returned to the school office. Kindergarten Enrolment forms need to be completed and returned to the school office by a date set in the year prior to commencing school.

Enrolment Process during COVID-19
To complete the Enrolment Form
- Download the enrolment form and save it to your computer before starting
- Complete your child’s enrolment details and gather any extra documentation required (as stated in the forms)
- Save the form as a PDF
- Email the completed form and copies of documentation to the School Office firstname.lastname@example.org
Upon receipt of your child’s enrolment form we will contact you to invite you to meet with the Principal.

COVID-19 Fee Relief
Catholic Schools Broken Bay are committed to supporting families as the impact of COVID-19 continues to be felt in the community. No family will be excluded from our school because of financial difficulties.
Even if you have not enrolled yet, we would like to offer the following help with school fees if you need it:
- A full reduction on ALL fees if your family gets JobSeeker.
- A 50%+ reduction on ALL fees if one parent in your family gets JobKeeper.
